Hi, I'm Matthew — and I built UK Work Rights because I kept seeing the same thing happen to people around me.
Friends, family, colleagues — people who were being treated unfairly at work, underpaid, or pushed out of their jobs — and they had no idea what rights they actually had. Not because they weren't smart. But because employment law is deliberately complicated, and getting proper advice costs money most people don't have.
So I built this. A free tool that gives anyone in the UK instant, clear guidance on their rights — no login, no fees, no jargon. Just answers.
What started as a simple idea has grown into something I'm genuinely proud of — 62 topic areas, covering everything from zero hours contracts to maternity rights, whistleblowing to minimum wage.
Every piece of guidance is cross-referenced against GOV.UK, ACAS, and Citizens Advice. It's updated regularly. And it will always be free.
