ukworkrights.co.uk is a free online tool that uses artificial intelligence (Claude AI by Anthropic) to provide general guidance on a wide range of UK legal rights topics — including employment, housing, benefits, consumer rights, data protection, driving and DVLA, NHS complaints, school rights, council tax, energy bills, tax and HMRC, wills and probate, criminal records, travel rights, neighbour disputes, parking, and more. The tool generates responses based on information provided by the user and a list of verified facts that we maintain and check against primary sources.

Guidance is generated as of the date shown on each result. Laws, regulations and benefit rates change regularly. We make reasonable efforts to keep the tool updated but cannot guarantee that all information reflects the very latest legal position at the time of your query.

1a. Regulated Activities — Important

Certain areas of law involve regulated activities that can only be carried out by authorised professionals. These include:

• Claims management — handling or advising on compensation claims as a business (for example employment, personal injury, housing disrepair or criminal injuries claims) is regulated by the FCA, or by the SRA for solicitors. We do not handle claims, contact anyone on your behalf, take any fee or commission, or refer you to solicitors or claims firms.
• Immigration advice and applications — can only be given by an adviser registered with the Immigration Advice Authority (formerly the OISC), or by a solicitor, barrister or chartered legal executive

3. AI-Generated Content

How this site is produced. The guidance, guides, letter templates and articles on this site are produced with AI assistance under the direction of the site owner, and are checked against primary sources including GOV.UK, ACAS and legislation.gov.uk before publication. Statutory figures used by the rights checkers are hardcoded from verified primary sources rather than generated.

Guidance provided by this site is generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors, inaccuracies or omissions. The AI:

• May not reflect the most recent changes to UK law, benefit rates or HMRC guidance
• May misinterpret ambiguous or incomplete situation descriptions
• Cannot account for all individual circumstances that may affect your rights
• Should not be treated as a definitive statement of your legal position

Each result displays the date it was generated. You should verify important information with official sources such as GOV.UK, ACAS, HMRC or a qualified professional.

We check our own accuracy. When the tool produces a report for you, our system compares the figures and legal references in it against our verified list and keeps the report for up to 90 days, flagging it for us if something does not match, so we can correct it. Your question itself is not part of this check, and we never attach your name, email address or any identifier. See our Privacy Policy for how long we keep these.

4. Acceptable Use

4a. Daily Check Limit

Each AI-generated response costs real money to produce. To keep this service free and fair for every visitor, we apply a fair-use limit of 5 AI checks per internet connection, counted over 24 hours from your first check.

This counter resets automatically — you do not need to do anything. When your 5 checks are used, the tool will tell you, and your checks become available again 24 hours after your first one. The guides, downloads, letter templates and toolbox talks are not subject to this limit and are always freely available.

The limit is counted per internet connection and is enforced on our servers, so clearing your browser data or switching accounts will not reset it.

You agree not to use this site to:

• Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information
• Attempt to circumvent, disable or interfere with the site's security features
• Use automated means to access or query the tool in bulk
• Copy, reproduce or redistribute the tool or its underlying code without permission
• Use the site for any unlawful purpose
• Resell or commercially exploit guidance generated by the tool without our written permission

5. Donations

Everything on this site is free. There are no paid services, no premium tier and no paid reports.

• If you choose to support the site, donations are voluntary and handled entirely by Buy Me a Coffee on their own platform
• We do not process payments and do not store any payment details
• Donations are gifts, not payment for a service, and are non-refundable

5a. Comments and Reporting Content

To post a comment you need to sign in with Google. Blog comments are pre-moderated. Nothing you submit appears on the site until it has been reviewed and approved by us. You must be 16 or over to post a comment. You can comment on our articles and react to comments with a thumbs up or down, but you cannot reply to other users’ comments or message them. We may reply to a comment as UK Work Rights.

We will not approve content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, or that identifies a third party without their consent.

To report a comment or any other content on this site, email hello@ukworkrights.co.uk with the page address and the reason for your concern. We aim to acknowledge reports within 48 hours and will remove unlawful content promptly.

Data protection complaints. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, email hello@ukworkrights.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
