Describe your consumer issue and get instant plain English guidance on your rights — verified against GOV.UK and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. In the first 30 days you have the right to a full refund. Between 30 days and 6 months the trader gets one repair or replacement attempt — if it fails you are entitled to a refund. After 6 months the burden shifts to you to prove the fault was present at delivery.
Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 makes your credit card provider jointly liable for purchases over £100 and up to £30,000. Chargeback is available on debit cards for non-delivery, faulty goods and company insolvency. Online purchases give you a 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Key rights covered: faulty goods, refunds, Section 75 claims, chargeback, flight delays, package holidays, online cancellations and small claims court. Verified against GOV.UK and Citizens Advice.
