If you spend at least 35 hours a week caring for someone who receives certain disability benefits, you may be entitled to Carer's Allowance and other support.

⚖ Carer's Allowance (2026): £81.90 per week. You must earn no more than £151 per week after tax and certain expenses. You are also entitled to a Carer's Assessment from your local council to assess your own needs.

Attendance Allowance is a tax-free benefit for people aged 67 or over who have a physical or mental disability and need someone to help look after them.

⚖ Current rates (2026): Lower rate £72.65 per week — for those who need help during the day or night. Higher rate £108.55 per week — for those who need help both day and night, or who are terminally ill. You do not need to have a carer to claim.
